Make your own toothpaste?! Isn't that difficult?!
Amazingly enough, no! It's so simple. You need 4, yes 4 ingredients!
Coconut Oil, Baking Soda, Xylitol, and Peppermint Essential Oil (optional).
Reading through this simple list you might first wonder about xylitol. What is it and what does it do?
Xylitol is a natural sweetener. It sweetens the toothpaste while also adding it's own cavity fighting properties.

Ok, so it's easy huh? Don't believe me?
It will be liquified when you fill the bottle. I shake it off and on in the bottles until it's solidified, or stir it if in a bowl, just to make sure the baking soda doesn't settle. Then put the bottle where the toothpaste settles to the squeeze hole.
It does harden up, so if you do put it in a squeeze bottle, you will probably want to run it under hot/warm water for a moment to soften it up. Coconut oil melts at a very low temperature, so it won't take much to soften it.
The taste takes a little time to get used to. The Morning Pep Xylitol is a great sweetener to help with the salty baking soda flavor. The peppermint essential oil from Pure Body Naturals also adds a great minty flavor to the paste, plus freshens your breath.
